According to Reuters, Taiwan's Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday that it will impose anti-dumping duties on stainless steel from China and South Korea for a period of five years.
This decision reaffirms the current policy that all producers and exporters in China and South Korea are subject to anti-dumping duties of 38.11% and 37.65%, respectively.
This decision was made after a government investigation and will take immediate effect.
Taiwan has been imposing such tariffs since 2013 and has completed its second periodic review to consider lifting this policy.
However, the department stated that the conclusion drawn from the review is that there is insufficient evidence to suggest that continuing to take measures would have a significant negative impact on Taiwan's overall economic interests.
